Winter coats

Happy Wednesday, Lovies! Today I’ll be sharing the coats I’m currently wearing the most.Winter coats are an investment and an essential part of every woman’s closet, so there is no room for cutting corners. It’s something I usually wear more than one season so I don’t always follow the current craze, trending out on the streets.

A few weeks ago I realized I need a new coat! I wasn’t sure what I’m even looking for, just knew I need one. Upon inspecting my closet, I realized I’m a fan of solid, classic colors and designs, black being the dominant color. I also discovered a few pieces I had forgotten all about but I have to wait for temperatures to get a little above zero before showing you. Cold weather sure has its limits!

I took a stroll around town to check out a few of my favorite stores and I even picked out a few pieces. I was reaching for my wallet when it hit me- I had two black coats on my arm! Black! Again! I quickly returned them and left the store. I know black is easy to style up and it’s a classic but come on now! On the way home I decided I’m going to create a little “gallery” in an attempt to figure out what to “hunt” for next time I get out there.

As I’ve said before, you can’t pass on a good camel coat! It’s chic and feminine, fits both skirts and trousers, even the right pair of denim! Below is my favorite one from Zara, worn as a statement and as a fabulous finish to my office look.

Next on the list are my can’t-stand-it-cold aka, the cockroach jackets. I only wear them layered up on days like today (-12°C). I’ll start with the Benetton and how in love I am with this color: pink, red or a gorgeous mix between the two, it’s all about the light, baby!

Next is my Gina Benotti- an Italian designer with many affordable pieces. This cozy light-grey jacket with a pop of color is my current favorite and it never fails to keep me warm. The design compliments the body in a new way, making a cockroach jacket acceptable to wear to the office ❤

My classic black Guess trench coat can be worn as a statement piece because of the gorgeous buttons but also, semi-casual with chunky heels and designer denim (last year’s Gucci, pictured below). Styled up with a scarf or a wool dress, it’s one of my go-to’s:

My cream Zara wind-stopper never fails when it snows! The classic black Calvin Klein adds glam to the urban cold and Esprit does the job even up in the mountains!

Another black one, this time a wool coat. My beloved Jessica Simpson bell-sleeve. Sometimes a girl needs her statement coat and others, just a scarf does the trick.

We all have that one transition coat! You know, the moment when all of your winter gems make you sweat but it’s too early for a cardigan? Well, this gorgeous Zara is exactly what you need in your life!

There are the times when you can’t wait so you have to trust a wool sweather or a dress, in order to wear a Spring-ish Banana republic (black) coat but it’s all worth it!

Can’t help but mention my favorite transition coat- a custom made grey wool awesomeness:

I believe it’s now clear what I need- colors!!  Stay tuned on my coat situation as I’m also doing the 100 Happy Days challenge on Instagram (an explanation material on that is coming up) so you just know a new coat will make it up on that board ;]
