Exploring the Rhine river

Happy Sunday, Lovies!

In case you follow me on social media (@SilviaMelange), you know by now I’m exploring Hessen, Germany.

The other day I went up the Rhine river to visit the statue of Loreley and the countless castles along the way. I was hypnotized by the view but I didn’t forget all of you as I sometimes do (guilty!), so I snapped a few pics of my look. I don’t think it’s even worth mentioning how important it is to be dressed warm for outdoor explorations in Germany this time of the year! I was lucky there was no wind so my Zara jacket came, revealing an oversized sweater from Tommy Hilfiger, paired with thermo leggings from H&M and knit Uggs.

Excuse the face bc the hair is fabulous!

Like every self respecting fashion blogger, I sometimes search for things on the ground 😂

Visiting this area was a magical experience I recommend to everyone who happens to be in town. Even when it’s chilly, it’s the perfect place for meditation and soul searching or as I call it- getting lost in nature.

As the end of the year is approaching, we all need some peace and quiet to reflect and plan our next move. What’s your favorite nature spot to chill at? How do you feel about 2016 ? What are you looking forward to in 2017 ? Let me know in the comments below!

Old Town Nessebar *Fashion Explorations*

Rainy days happen. Besides, sun through clouds is the perfect light for a fashion blogger!

Sure, I’d love to just be lazy at the beach but instead of complaining and watching movies all day, I decided to grab an umbrella and get lost in the ancient streets of Old Town Nessebar. The small island, now connected to the main land, is in the UNESCO World Heritage sites list, housing over 3 millennia of history. It’s an honor to just be able to walk on these roads and it provides many perfect backdrops for photos 😉 For today’s session, I’m using the the Old Bishopic St. Sofia church, one of the oldest Eastern-Orthodox churches in the world.

I’m wearing a sea themed Angelo Marani top, Sisley-Benetton kaki shorts, gold wedges from Ralph Lauren and a Coach bag to complete the look.

As most of you know by now, I love to travel and ancient cities and ruins are my weakness. When exploring places like this, it’s important to wear comfortable and reliable shoes. I prefer flats but these wedges are my feet’s bffs and current summer favorites!

Stay tuned as there’s a special Travel entry covering the town and its fascinating history and landscapes! If you can’t wait, follow me on Instagtam and snapchat (@SilviaMelange) for daily updates.

How’s your summer going? Did you visit a hidden gem you think I should know about? Let me know in the comments and feel free to share what do you think of this look?

Bright colors and ancient ruins

Happy Monday, Lovies!

Yours truly had a four day weekend last week! I went on a little get away in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. It’s the 4th oldest city in the world so we did a lot of exploring! I’ll be sharing my experience and restaurant recommendations this week, so be on the lookout for that. I did a lot of traveling this last month but I also had some free time to walk around, so I’ll be catching you up on that as well!

Old town Plovdiv is a truly magical place but Nebet Tepe Hill took my breath away! It’s the remains of an ancient castle (over 7000 years old!), and it reveals a gorgeous panorama of the modern part of the city. I chose to use it as a back drop for my outfit pics for you guys!

We had a lot of climbing to do and most of the roads in the old part of town are the authentic or reconstructed Roman stone roads. So I did something every fashion blogger does, whether they admit it or not- I wore my comfy orthopedic Geox flats for the long explorations, and only brought my heels for the outfit shots! Originally I was only going to post the pics shot for the blog, but Plovdiv’s scenery is so beautiful, I feel like I would be unfair to you guys if I don’t share some random favorites 🙂

The path up to Nebet Tepe Hill

The view from the top where the fortress once stood

You can see why this is my favorite spot in the city 🙂

Now some pics and details from my look:

I wore a kimono inspired dress, a flawless color blend from H&M, Banana republic leggings, Guess (Confidential cross body bag in rose pink), and Oakley shades. My heels are from Esprit and the adorable silver flats are Geox, as mentioned above. Details are the classic Lokai bracelet, Swarovski earrings and a custom made name necklace.

For more shots from the city, follow my Instagram and snapchat story (@SilviaMelange) and keep an eye on the blog! I wish all of you a fabulous week and let me know in the comments what you think of my pics 🙂 Are you into History, legends and ancient civilizations? What’s your favorite part of History? I’d love to have a discussion and see how many of you are travel junkies like moi?

Hessische Staatskainzlei and Kochbrunnen Wiesbaden

When I’m a tourist, I’m a tourist! I wear comfy clothes and I try to experience everything truly local as much as possible. While visiting Germany, I stayed at the NH hotel, a 10 minute walk from downtown Wiesbaden. It’s one of those things you have to experience for yourself but here are some of my impressions:

Wiesbaden is a magical city, specially around Christmas! The architecture everywhere is a flawless bland of old, traditional and new buildings and even the most random pic you take is post card worthy! Stay on the lookout for an article about the places you MUST visit if you ever find yourself in the area.

One of them is the Kochbrunnen Wiesbaden, some of the healthiest mineral waters in the world! I’m obligated to warn you the water is really hot and it kinda smells like rotten eggs but I filled a bottle up and once it cooled off, it tasted absolutely lecker (delicious)! It’s located near a playground with some really cool graffiti art. Right across the street from Hessische Staatskanzlei, the Hessian State Chancellery. Formerly Grand Hotel Rose, this building is a piece of art on its own. I could not take a close picture  of it because the day I visited there were barricades and someone important arrived. You can see it behind me on some of the shots below 🙂 I always wear comfy clothes when I have a long day of walking ahead of me and in Germany at this time of the year, you just have to stay warm! My outfit details:

A simple thick black sweater from Mango, Zara denim, necklaces and earnings. Tall chocolate brown Bailey button Uggs and last year’s Esprit bag.

Let me know in the comments if you would like me to upload some vlogs from my trip as well!
